Healthcare Integrated Research Database (HIRD®)
We manage one of the largest, most comprehensive healthcare databases in the industry.
The Healthcare Integrated Research Database (HIRD) is a proprietary database created by Carelon Research. The HIRD contains health-related information for more than 90 million people currently and formerly enrolled in commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid health plans located throughout the U.S. This unparallelled database is the foundation for end-to-end research services and the source of Carelon Real World Data: a subset of integrated data available for licensing.

We apply decades of experience developing and analyzing the HIRD to effectively generate real-world evidence in collaboration with clients.
With the HIRD, we have the power to create studies few of our competitors can. That’s because we can link enrollment records to healthcare claims in the HIRD – and then connect that data to clinical and supplemental data, from laboratory results to oncology records. The HIRD is updated monthly, and historical data are available dating back to January 2006.
